Getting started

How do I check in at a pool hall?

Open QRooms, tap "Check in", and scan the rotating QR code displayed at the cashier or table area. You’ll need to grant location permission so we can verify you’re actually at the hall — this is what keeps the system fair.

What’s the difference between Verified and Casual matches?

Casual matches are friendly games — they don’t affect your tournament rating. Verified matches happen at a registered hall, are tied to a check-in, and only commit a rating change after the bill is settled. Use Casual to learn the app and find people to play with. Use Verified when you’re ready to play for your rating.

How do I find players to match with?

Players at the same hall as you appear in your lobby once they check in. You can also invite specific players or accept open invites posted to the room.

Matches & ratings

Why didn’t my rating change after the match?

Ratings only commit after the bill is paid at the cashier. This is intentional — it’s how QRooms prevents fake matches. Settle up, and your rating updates within a few seconds.

I won but lost rating points — why?

QRating is game-score-aware, not just match-win-aware. If you were heavily favoured and only won by a small margin (e.g. 7–6 against someone rated much lower), the system’s expectation was that you’d win by more — so points can shift in unexpected ways. Read the full mechanics on the Rating Rules page.

What’s the +200 rule for new players?

New players (rating below 400) can’t be matched against players rated 200 points or more above them. This prevents rating manipulation and protects newcomers from being farmed.

Profile

How do I upload a profile photo?

Go to Profile → Edit → Photo. Photos are reviewed by an admin before becoming visible to other players, usually within a day.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your check-ins, matches, and rating. We retain a minimal anonymous record of completed matches for the integrity of opponents’ ratings.

How do I switch languages?

Profile → Settings → Language. The app supports English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Pool hall partners

I’d like to host QRooms at my pool hall — what does that involve?

We’ll set up your hall in our system, train your cashier and referees on the staff app, and provide printed QR code signage. There’s no software fee during the launch period. Email partners@qrooms.app with your hall name, address, and number of tables.
